ALBERT RAYMOND HUBENAK
ALBERT RAYMOND HUBENAK

Albert graduated from El Campo High School in May 1953 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston. He served eight years in the active Army Reserve until 1962. He built a lifetime career in administration with Graybar Electric Company; work he took deep pride in before retiring in 1991. One of his happiest moments was retiring at 55 years old when he returned home to his roots to live his best life in Columbus, Texas.
He was an Eagle Scout with a Bronze Palm and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Albert carried the values of scouting throughout his life. A devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, he generously donated his time wherever it was needed - coaching Columbus Little League, serving on the board of the Opera House and contributing to the Santa Claus Museum.
Albert loved hunting, reading, watching old western movies, and quoting politics. He enjoyed anything that was outdoors - working in the yard, golfing, and his daily mile long walks at 90 years old. He enjoyed traveling with his family and exploring new places together. But what he was most proud of was his family and the love they shared.
Albert married Neva Lou (Kallina) Hubenak in Nada, Texas, in 1955. He is survived by Neva Lou, his son, Mark Allen Hubenak and his wife Deidra; his daughter Dr. Roxanne Hubenak-Wilson and her husband Hugh Wilson; and his cherished grandchi ldren, including Alex Hubenak, Shane Hubenak, Taryn Velasco and Dr Justin Hubenak, along with many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by two of his sisters-Delores Preismeyer and Del Rose Symkowski. Honorary pallbearers include Jo Ann Massey, Lloyd Lim, Catlin Frazier, Cassandra Graves and Keith Graves.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date.
