RICHARD CARL SCHILLER
RICHARD CARL SCHILLER

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ruby Schiller; his brother, Robert John Schiller; and his nephews, James Robert Craig and Robert Don Schiller.
He is survived by his sisters, Roberta Thames and husband John, Rebecca Enloe, and his nieces and nephews, Jesse Enloe and wife Raushan, John Enloe and wife Araceli, Elizabeth Fonseca and husband Al, Jennie Seidel and husband Scott. Richard enjoyed a career in pump sales and maintenance in Colorado and then came back to the Bryan area to help his parents. He spent the last 20 years of his life in Columbus, Texas doing some cattle ranching.
If you knew Richard you knew he was an unusual, interesting, thoughtful, creative, gentle, and smart man. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed skiing, and hiking during his years in Colorado, was great at fixing things, was musical, and had a great love for this country.
He was always up to date on the current news and was concerned about the outcome of each event. Richard had a deep respect for the environment and desired to leave a small footprint. He loved one-onone visits with people, and he loved his family and friends. He had solid faith and could back up his beliefs with scripture. He loved the verse from James 1 which says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
An informal gathering of family and friends will be held in Columbus at the Dewberry Cafe, 1237 Bowie Street, Columbus, TX 78934 on Monday, June 29 from 3 – 5 p.m.
