He attended Columbus High School and married Peggy Caldwell Dodds on March 7, 1983. George worked in road construction and as a mechanic. He enjoyed helping friends and neighbors with their vehicles and other projects. He also loved fishing and hunting, especially his hunting trips to Colorado.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Prihoda and Bessie Prihoda Janak; sister, Dorothy Roberts; brother, Joe Janak, who was killed in the Vietnam War; and stepfather, Theodore Janak.

George is survived by his wife, Peggy Dodds Prihoda; daughters, Aricia Long of Colorado and Sharon Webb of Austin; stepson, Grant Dodds; grandsons, Colton and Mason Dodds; granddaughter, Stephanie Robirds; sisters, Viola Meyer of Columbus and Laverne Phelan of Bogue Chitto, Mississippi; and brothers, Norris Janak (Dinah), Larry Janak (Betty), and Ernest Prihoda of Columbus.

A visitation was held on July 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ganado Funeral Home. Graveside services were held Friday, July 31 at 10 a.m. at the Ganado Cemetery.
