Ronald Charles Lowe

Ronald Charles Lowe passed away on June 9 in Cordova, Tennessee at the age of 79. He was born in Houston on Nov. 7, 1946, to Dr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Lowe. Ron or “Rudi,” as he was called by family and many friends, grew up in Houston. After graduating from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree, he then earned a Doctor of Pediatric Medicine degree from Illinois College of Pediatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 1972.

Upon earning his degree, Ron moved back to Houston to join his father and brother Tom at the Lowe Medical Clinic. Ron married Mary “Bonnie” Armstrong, where they resided in Houston. Eventually he began to serve patients in rural areas, including Columbus. In 1998, Ron and Bonnie left Houston and joined the Memphis VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee to provide care for retired and active-duty service members.

Ron was preceded in death by his father Thomas E. Lowe, MD, his mother, Evelyn Lowe, and older brothers, Thomas E. Lowe, Jr., MD and Robert J. Lowe, MD.

Ron is survived by Bonnie his wife; sisterin- law Yvonne Lowe, niece Jennifer Lowe Farris, of Columbus and his nephews, Russell Lowe, of Corpus Christi, and Kirk Lowe, of Columbus, and seven great nieces and nephews.
