During the Thursday, Feb. 29 meeting of the Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club, member, Rev. Margarita Arroyo welcomed guest speaker, Bret Cappleman, owner of the new Apple Ace Lumber at 200 Glen Flora Road in Eagle Lake. Cappleman invited the Lions and the community to visit the store for their Grand Opening celebration on March 1 and March 2. Lindemann wins primary for sheriff’s post
There will be a new sheriff in town after the results of the 2024 primary elections on Tuesday, March 5 as Justin Lindemann took the voting majority during the election. The Colorado County Elections Office released the unofficial results of the joint primaries at around 10 p.m. that night.

State gas prices fall over last week, according to GasBuddy
Average gasoline prices in Texas have fallen 9.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.79/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 4.1 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 7.1 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 2.6 cents in the last week and stands at $4.06 per gallon.

DPS honors achievements and bravery
AUSTIN – The Texas Public Safety Commission, along with Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steven McCraw, presented two William P.
