Author gives life lessons with the story of Christopher Kringle
It’s hard to think of Christmas without thinking of the jolly old man in red that represents the giving spirit of the holidays. Santa Claus has been a prominent image of Christmas since the legend’s origins hundreds of years ago. Local author Fawn Young used her gift of writing and creativity to bring new life to the story of Santa with her book, The Legend of the Old Man.Young’s story of persistence through adversity is reflected in her depiction of Santa’s life. Despite the holiday season reaching its conclusion, Young’s personal story, as well as the story depicted in her book, share life lessons that apply throughout the year.

EL City Council OKs election service by county
EAGLE LAKE – City Council held their final meeting of the year on Tuesday, Dec. 12 to discuss several items including the holiday decorations as well as deciding on accepting an election services contract with the county for the upcoming Municipal Elections.

City manager discussion continues at Weimar Council
WEIMAR – The city government of Weimar has continued their search for a city manager to fill the position that has been vacant for just around six months. While there were several topics on the docket for the Council’s regular meeting on Dec. 14, many of the residents present were in attendance to witness the discussion surrounding the city manager position as well as the interview portion during executive session that was revealed and discussed openly during the subsequent public portion.

Arrest warrant served for sale of narcotics
