Running together for a good cause
Several local communities came together to run for some great causes on Labor Day (Monday, Sep 4th). Cross country runners from St. Anthony’s Catholic School in Columbus, St. Michael’s Catholic School in Weimar, Sacred Heart Catholic School in Hallettsville, Schulenburg High School, and Columbus High School joined forces to raise funds for the Freedom Service Dogs of America, Tunnels to Towers 9/11 Foundation, the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust, and the National Purple Heart Honor Mission. Students were joined by the St. Anthony Catholic School Principal, her husband, and two parents for the evening’s fun run, and the event was coordinated by Sarah Moore, St. Anthony’s Athletic Director. 09/13/2023 12:00 AM

Lady Cards take round one against Lady Raiders
Lady Cards take round one against Lady Raiders
COLUMBUS – The Lady Raiders have had much better results in the record book this season as they continue their efforts to try to become a factor in the district title race. They still have more ground to cover as they got their first look against the team that is favored to take the district championship this season: the Columbus Lady Cardinals. The match proved to be reflective of the dynamic between a team that is in the process of rebuilding and one that had just made a state semifinal appearance the year before. Columbus showed why they are currently one of the top teams in the state with a three-game sweep over the Lady Raiders. 09/13/2023 12:00 AM
