EMS to revamp area near opportunity center
COLUMBUS –The Colorado County commissioners met on Jan. 9. At the meeting, Michael Furrh, EMS Director, went before the commissioner court to discuss potential construction being done at EMS Station No. 3 at Eagle Lake. The station is currently located near the Colorado County Opportunity Center. Furrh asked for approval to seek proposal from contractors. Precinct 4 Commissioner Darrell Gertson pointed out that the current station is a key area due to accessibility in the event of accidents or other incidents that may occur where it is located. TxDOT projects for Columbus
The City of Columbus met on Jan. 9 and heard concerns from residents about reports of flooding on Fairview Street which intersects with Highway 90. City Manager Donald Warschak advised council that the reasoning for this could be due to water not flowing in the correct direction. The city said it will reach out to TxDOT concerning this issue. Warschak said that Tx-DOT will have a ditch cleaning project near the highway along FM 806 (Cardinal Lane). 01/18/2023 12:00 AM
