Read moreThe Weimar Lions Club meeting Dec. 1 had guests from the Colorado County EMS. The presentation was given by Amanda Daniel, Director of the Colorado County EMS. Colorado County has three EMS stations: Columbus, Eagle Lake, and Weimar, and they are all staffed around the clock. There are 54 employees, of which 23 are full-time. Recently, water rescue capabilities were added, and have already been used a month ago on the Colorado River. Read moreDanza Guadalupana, a cultural dance troupe out of Eagle Lake, is a crowd favorite at many local Christmas celebrations. This year coronavirus precautions halted several holiday festivities. The sacred choreography of the group dates back hundreds of years in the Catholic religion in Mexico. Even though there are no crowds to perform for this year, Danza Guadalupana is still dancing their elaborate steps as seen above in photos from their Saturday performance in the Taqueria Azteca restaurant parking lot in Eagle Lake.
