Read moreCourt St. Roch of Mentz Catholic Daughters spread some holiday cheer Tuesday, Dec. 7 by delivering lunch, prepared by Pilsner’s Cafe, to local law enforcement. Linda Venghaus and Marily Nelson, representing the Catholic Daughters, stopped first at the City of Columbus Police Department where Captain Wendy Alley accepted the lunches on behalf of the city officers. The next stop was the Sheriff’s Department and Sheriff Curly Wied took time from his busy schedule to accept the dinners to feed his staff. Stephanie Jones at The Department of Public Safety greeted Linda and Marilyn and happily accepted the donation of lunch for all of the DPS officers. This is the second year that Court St. Roch has delivered lunches to local law enforcement and they hope to make it an annual event. “This is just a small token of appreciation and support for all of the men and women who work so diligently to keep our community safe and a great place to live.,” CDA members said.
