During this eight-week period, two evenings a week, the Big Easy Chef and his staff prepared 75 multi-course meals each evening, for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Champion Valley families in the communities of Columbus, Schulenburg and Weimar. Barn Builders, who describe themselves as a “conservative, social activist organization that stands behind the principles of citizens’ rights and duties,” hosted a “Back the Blue event Saturday, Aug. 22 at Shaw’s Bend Social Club in Shaw’s Bend. The day provided free, fun, family entertainment, and, of course, barbecue, for those in attendance. Hundreds of people came and went throughout the afternoon and into the night to show support and express their thanks for what law enforcement does to protect and serve the community. Citizen
