AUSTIN - In response to severe weather threats along the Gulf Coast due to Tropical Storm Nicholas, Governor Greg Abbott on Sept. 12 ordered the Texas State Operations Center (SOC) to increase its readiness to Level II (Escalated Response) beginning tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. central. The SOC will operate at Level II to coordinate the state’s response in support of local officials. Tropical Storm Nicholas is forecast to begin impacting the Texas coast tomorrow.

Read moreAUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott on Sept. 1 announced that the Texas Military Department (TMD) and the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) have deployed additional resources and personnel to support Hurricane Ida response and recovery efforts at the request of the State of Louisiana through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC). This follows an announcement from Governor Abbott earlier this week that the State of Texas would continue to review any additional EMAC requests from the State of Louisiana to provide additional response and recovery assets that may be needed.
