Colorado County Election Results: May 4, 2019

Incumbent Dorothy Wosterek was elected to another term on the Columbus ISD Board of Trustees, while Alex Seydler won an open spot on the Weimar City Council according to complete but unofficial returns from both entities. In Eagle Lake, Rene Cooper, formerly the city’s first black mayor, was elected to a spot on the Eagle Lake City Council. 

Also in the very close CISD race, Ryan Thomas and June Schobel won the remaining two open seats on the board, over Brandon Wilson and William Brown.

Sydler defeated challenger Jerry Shupak in the Weimar council race by four votes, 76-72 with write-in Leroy Jackson, Jr. polling ten votes. Roy Ulrich and Becky Roberts were re-elected to their positions without opposition.

In Eagle Lake, incumbents Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Cooper were re-elected, with longtime incumbent councilwoman Gay Lynn Thomas coming in last in the field
