Wray takes top spot in State golf, first in CHS history

With a winning birdie putt on hole 18, Columbus High School senior athlete Carson Wray made school history May 18 as the first State Champion golfer in school history.

Wray is the 2021 3A Boys

Golf State Champion.

Wray and the CHS boys golf team of Kaldon Roensch, Trace Braden, Hayden Heffley, Ty Thomas and Wray advanced to the UIL State Golf Tournament at Shadowglen Golf Course in Manor.

The Cardinal team had a score of 349 on day one, and 329 on day two for a total score of 678.

In individual competition, Wray had a score of 75 on day one and 73 on day two for a total score of 148.
