BOWDEN

Michelle “Shelly” Marie Bowden, age 52, passed away surrounded by her family on July 15 in Columbus. She was born to Ernest William and Margaret Mary (Buxkamper) Besch Dec. 1, 1969 in Columbus.

On June 26, 1999, Michelle was united in marriage to Dean Bowden. Together, they were blessed with two children and two stepchildren. Michelle worked for HEB in Columbus for nine years.

In her free time, she loved to dabble in sewing projects. Helping with the Special Olympics held a special place in her heart. She also loved going to con certs and cheering on her beloved Dallas Cowboys.

Michelle is survived by: her husband of 23 years, Dean Bowden of Columbus; daughter, Bobbi Jo Bowden of Columbus; son, Tanner Bowden of Columbus; stepsons, Scott Payne of Wis consin and Duston Bowden of Virginia; mother, Margaret Besch of Columbus; brother, Heath Besch and wife Jennifer of Columbus; father-in-law, Elmer Bowden and wife, Georgia of Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Scott Bowden of Wisconsin; uncle, John Buxkamper and wife, Lynn of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michelle was preceded in death by: her father, Ernest W. Besch, grandparents, Joseph and Regina Buxkamper; grandparents, Ernest M. and Louise Besch; mother-in-law, Sharon Bowden; and sister-in-law, Julie Bowden.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Henneke Funeral Home and on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Henneke Funeral Home with Deacon Rusty Theut officiating.
