Clarence Bratcher Jr., 85, of Columbus, left this earth on August 12, 2021. He was born December 10, 1935, to Clarence & Bessie Mae (Hargrove) Bratcher Sr. He graduated from Riverside School. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force to serve his country and was honorably discharged on July 5, 1962. Having served at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC, he decided to move back to Columbus. Before retiring from the workforce, Clarence worked at the QP Grocery Store & Gifford Hill (gravel pit).

On March 5, 1966, he married Eunice, who would stand by him throughout the years. Clarence was truly a good man whose impact will forever be felt by the family that loves him dearly and knows they will see each other again. He was a selfless man whose passing has left a hole that only he can fill. His ability to love, sacrifice, provide, support, and forgive will forever be lessons to all he knew. He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved to watch all professional sports, especially football, basketball, & baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters Shirley Axel, Sally Kay (Coleman), Scott, Betty (Coleman) Coreathers & his loving step-father Herbert “Judge” Coleman.

Clarence, a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather, is survived by his wife, Eunice of 55 years and his sister Barbara (Coleman) and brother-in-law’s Robert Waddle, Robert Coreathers, Thomas, Jerry & Timothy Perrino, along with his sister-in-law’s Phyllis (Perrino) More and husband Irvin, Rachel (Perrino) Jackson and husband Stoney, and Diane (Ted) Bailey. His step-children is also survived: Thomas Carter, Tandy Carter and wife Gina, Toleta Carter, Tina (Carter) James and husband Melvin, and Toni Carter; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren & one great-great-grandchild.

Clarence was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be Friday, August 20, 2021, at Henneke Funeral Home, 1515 Montezuma St., Columbus, Texas from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Willing Workers Cemetery in Columbus, Texas. Services under the direction of Henneke Funeral Home.
