CLARA LOUISE BOTARD

Clara Louise Botard, 92, of Sheridan, Texas, passed away on Feb. 23, 2023, in Columbus, Texas.

She was born on March 20, 1930 to Louie Haegelin and Marie (Bachaus) Haegelin in Bandera, Texas. On May 20, 1946 she married Lewis A. Botard.

Clara was a member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan.

She enjoyed working in her garden and canned her own food. She was known for her special fig jel ly. She loved to cook and was head of the kitchen at First Baptist Church in Sheridan. Clara also enjoyed going deer hunting and raising

chickens.

Clara is survived by her sons Lewis Botard and Charles Botard of Sheridan; sister Della Schaeffer of Bandera; special friend Patsy Muthler; as wells as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louie Haegelin and Marie Haegelin; husband Lewis A. Botard; brothers Arnold Haegelin and Emil Haegelin; sister Marie Glazier.

The family is extremely grateful to the staff of Columbus Oaks Healthcare Community and Youens & Duchicela Clinic for the loving care they provided Clara.

Clara’s special wish is that Randy and Henry Schaeffer forget their differences, remember they are brothers and take care of their mom.
