DONNA GAIL APPELT COLDEWEY

Donna Gail Appelt Coldewey, 75, of Halletsville, Texas, and formerly of Eagle Lake, Texas, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.

She was born in Halletsville on Aug. 4, 1947, to Edgar Appelt and Millie (Elstner) Appelt. Donna was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. She was a talented person who enjoyed quilting, knitting and painting. She was a member of the Texas Extension Education Association and Sacred Heart Quilting Ladies. She worked as a bank teller for a number of years at Wallis State Bank in Eagle Lake as well as the Lake Lumber Co.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Coldewey. She is also survived by her sons John Coldewey (Liza) of Austin, Kurt Coldewey (Rachel) of Weimar, Texas, and Tim Teague (Nina) of Katy, Texas. Other survivors are sister Nettie Cullen, brother Poochie Appelt (Clemmie), sister-in-law Linda Moore (Rex) and Delores Huffmaster, cousins Kay Arnold and Beverly Fuchs as well as many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Additional survivors are grandsons Zachary, Tucker, Ryder, Phoenix and Locklin.

A celebration of life for Donna will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 11 at Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, 11134 FM 957 in Moravia, Texas. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
