FOSTER

Jimmie L. Foster, Sr. was born in Eagle Lake. He attended E.H. Henry High School and later was employed locally in the rice field. He retired from Martin Marietta in 2007.

Jimmie was the recipient of the fourth Annual Senior Citizen Festival Award, honored as a Dedicated Father in 2017.

Jimmie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. Jackson and later under watch care of Truman Scott, Sr. at Rising Star Baptist Church in Eagle Lake.

God dispatched his angels to take Jimmie home Feb. 17.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted and dedicated wife, Gloria; three daughters: Gloria (Russell), LaSandra (Joseph), and Tarvia; three sons: Michael, Jimmy, Jr., and Frederick (Rolanda); one brother, Joel; a special nephew, Leroy; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a special daughter, Kerronda; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family and friends he has touched along his journey.

Final arrangements were entrusted to Ben Davis Funeral Home of Columbus.
