Genevieve Anne Nesvadba Batchelor, 76, of Columbus, Texas, passed away on October 26, 2022, in Columbus, Texas, surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 26, 1946, to Arnold J. Sury and Georgia A. (Kovar) Sury in West Columbia, Texas. On June 29, 2014, she married Jamie E. Batchelor.

Genevieve worked as an airline flight attendant for Southwest Airlines for many years up until her retirement. Previously she was a beautician and the co-owner of Nesvadba Exxon for many years.

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters and started the America Needs Fatima Public Square Rosary Crusade in Columbus on the courthouse lawn.

Genevieve enjoyed spending time with her family and meeting her first great-grandchild. She loved being at home and just being with Jaime. They enjoyed going to church picnics together and playing bingo and dancing. Genevieve was very fond of her nephew, Mason Nesvadba, who played in a band at some of the picnics they attended. She loved to support local organizations in their fundraising activities. Going out to eat with friends and family gave her much joy. She especially liked going to Sargent and loved watching sunrises and sunsets. Genevieve was always happy and the go-to person whenever you needed something.

Genevieve is survived by her husband, Jamie E. Batchelor; daughters, Jacque Beane and Jennifer Nesvadba Wray; step-daughters, Michalene Klepac and husband Brent, and Chrystal Koeppen; step-sons, Jamie E. Batchelor II and wife Ressa, and Jason E. Batchelor; sister, Kathy Fojtik and husband C.D.; brothers, Jim Sury and wife Margaret, Robert Sury and wife Kathryn, Thomas Sury and wife Lynn, Donald Sury and wife Patricia Sury, and Jerome Sury and wife Joyce; grandchildren, Joshua Beane and wife Allie, Lauren Beane, Nathan Beane, Carson Wray, Colton Wayne Pitchford, Camdon Ross Pitchford, and Candee Nicole Pitchford; step- grandchildren, April Zwahr and husband Josh, Lenzie Leonhardt and husband Ryan Howard, Cameron Koeppen, Landrey Koeppen, Jameson Koeppen, Chelsie Sharp and husband Johnnie, Jaylie Batchelor and partner Cole Wade, Jamie E. Batchelor III, Madelyn Batchelor, Trent Batchelor, Haley Batchelor, and Ashley Klepac; great-grandchild, Maverick Beane; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Georgia Sury; and her first husband, John Allen Nesvadba.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas. A rosary followed at 7 p.m.

Funeral service was Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg, Texas. Fr. Bob Knippenberg officiated. Visitation at the church was from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial took place in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Frelsburg, Texas.

Pallbearers were Joshua Beane, Nathan Beane, Carson Wray, Colton Pitchford, Camdon Pitchford and Cameron Koeppen. Honorary pallbearers were Lauren Beane, Candee Pitchford, and Maverick Beane.
