Nelta Kathrine Jenkins Hill, 76, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10 in Columbus. She was born to Robert and Nelta Mae Jenkins Feb. 9, 1945 in Cotulla.

She was married to Joe L. Hill, Jr. July 13, 1963.

Nelta was a retired bank officer for BBVA Compass Bank in Lake Jackson.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe L, Hill, Jr., and her parents, Robert and Nelta M. Jenkins, sister Peggye R. Couch (Bill) and brothers Robert E. Jenkins, Jr. (Mary), Raymond O. Jenkins, Richard S. Jenkins and her in-laws Joe and Olive Hill and her sister-in-law Olive Law and spouse Gerry Law, Sr.

She is survived by her siblings Nancy Nieschwietz (John), Sandra Stone (James), Betty Kato (David), Rachel Mills, David T. Jenkins (Lisa), sister-in-law Joan Brown (FG) and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was Friday, Oct. 15 at Peters Funeral Home in Cotulla. The funeral service was Saturday, Oct. 16 at First Baptist Church in Cotulla. A memorial service will be held for Nelta at Glidden Baptist Church in Glidden at a later date. Memorials may be given to His Love Christian Counseling in Lake Jackson, Texas or a charity of your choice in Nelta K. Hill’s name.
