Lillie Mae Hillmer, age 91, passed away Dec. 2 in Columbus. She was born to August and Annie (Rabel) Schindler Dec. 8, 1927 in Eagle Lake.

Lillie Mae was a homemaker and former owner and bookkeeper for Columbus Carpets. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking for her family. Her hobbies included crocheting. Her favorite thing was going to the farm. She was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Lillie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, August and Annie Schindler; husband, Marvin E. Hillmer; brother, Joe R. Schindler and brother-in-law, Ray Powell.

Lillie Mae is survived by: sons Carl A. Hill-mer and wife Donna of Columbus, and Larry T. Hillmer of Bernardo; sister Annie Bell Powell of Crossroads, MS; sister-in-law CoyDell Schindler; and grandchildren, Kari Tesch and husband Zach, Kevin James Hillmer and Kylee Shay Werland; and caregivers, Evelyn Johnson and Ari Lee Earls.

Funeral service will be Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus with Pastor Alan Kethan officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 6 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home, and at church on Saturday from 1 -2 p.m. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Joe Wayne Schindler, Allen Schindler, Gary Schindler, Warren Powell and Gordon Powell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 267, Columbus, TX. 78934 or the charity of your choice.
