MARJORIE STRIEDER

Marjorie Jones Strieder, of Bernardo, Texas, passed away on August 21, 2022, in Columbus, Texas, at the age of 90. She was born to August and Augusta (Peikert) Jones on November 5, 1931, in Bernardo, Texas. She married John Allen Strieder on January 4, 1949.

Marjorie was preceded in death by: her parents, August and Augusta Jones; husband, John Strieder; grandson, Jimmy Lee Strieder; brothers, Earl Gene Jones and Milton Jones; and sisters-in-law, Mary Jones and Delores Jones.

Marjorie is survived by: daughters, Ruth Ann Elster and husband Arnold of Needville, Texas, and Connie Garrett and husband Larry of The Woodlands, Texas; sons, John David Strieder and wife Karen of Bernardo, Texas, and Jimmy Strieder and wife Barbara of Frydek, Texas; sister, Marian Frank and husband Ronnie of Alleyton, Texas; brother, August Henry Jones of Bernardo, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jones of Eagle Lake, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Elster, Kimberly Matthews, Justin Strieder, Kelli Maddox, Shari Strieder, Karen Strieder, Samantha Izard, Amanda Montoya, Hunters Roberts and Misty Schulte; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz, Texas, with Fr. Bob Knippenberg and Fr. Leon Strieder officiating. A visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, also at church. A Catholic Daughter and Parish Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Roch Catholic Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers: Hunter Roberts, Justin Strieder, Granvel Meyer, Patrick Matthews, Michael Elster, Jimmy Maddox, Serafin Montoya and Connor Matthews.
