Charles E. Reising, age 90, of Columbus, passed away Jan. 28 in Houston.

He was born May 24, 1929 to Emil William Reising and Augusta Findeisen Reising in Shaws Bend. Charles married Georgie L. Canik Reising Apr. 14, 1953.

Charles worked as a car salesman for many years for Meyer Motor Company, and then Don Morrison Ford. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and taking trips to Louisiana.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 2971.

Charles is survived by his daughters Sandra Ainsworth (John) of Dallas, Cynthia Holmes (Clent) of Houston, Shirley Antosh (Gary) of La Grange; son Gregory Reising Sr. (Mary) of Columbus; grandchildren Cody Ainsworth (Kay), Joseph C. Ainsworth, Adam Antosh (Erin), Stephanie Antosh, Macaela Houde (John), Gregory Reising Jr.; great-grandchildren Luke Antosh and Marceline Houde; brother-in-law L.F. Eilers of Conroe, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerome and Josephine Canik of Houston.

He was preceded in death by his father Emil Reising, mother Augusta Findeisen Reising, step-mother Linda Eilers Reising, wife Georgie Canik Reising, sister Dorothy Reising Eilers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Leonard and Evelyn Korenek, and Leebert and Jeanette Canik.

Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus, with Fr. Augustine Asante officiating. A parish prayer service and K of C rosary will be Sunday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 9 from 3-5 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home and at St. Anthony Catholic Church from 9 - 10 a.m.

Burial will take place in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Columbus.

Pallbearers are Greg Reising, Sr. Greg Reising, Jr., Kenny Eihlers, John Ainsworth, Gary Antosh and Adam Antosh. Honorary pallbearers are Clent Holmes and Jerome Canik.
