Donna Kay Schindler, of Rock Island, passed away Feb. 28 in Columbus at the age of 62. She was born to Roy Dexter and Glendyl Margaret (Bone) Weston Mar. 21, 1957 in Fort Hood.

Donna was a stay at home mom, dedicating herself to caring for her husband and children. She cared not only for her own children, but for the many friends she considered family. Family was of the utmost importance to her. Donna had a kind soul, and always wanted to do something for whomever she could. She loved music, laughter, and an ice cold Sonic drink.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Roy Weston and son, Trey Willberg.

Donna is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ralph Edward Schindler of Rock Island; daughters Joy Schindler and fiance David Janak of Hallettsville, and Dawn Estrada and husband Dean of Spring; son Clifford Schindler and wife Melissa of Bernardo; mother Glendyl Weston of El Campo; sister Rhonda Martinka and husband Stephen of El Campo; brother David Weston and significant other Sharon Hubenak of Sealy; grandchildren Autumn LaNaee Clayton, Kyle Brant Gassmann, Brysen Kade Janak, Logan Marlin Murray, Jamie Elizabeth Estrada and Landon Hunter Estrada.

A potluck celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Mar. 7 at the Rock Island Full Gospel Church located at 2304 Cushen St. in Rock Island. The family requests that guests wear bright colors in celebration of Donna’s life. Good food and good stories welcome.
