Julia Elizabeth “Deeda” Scott, 92, of Rock Island, passed away Nov. 23 in Rock Island.

She was born May 12, 1929 to Jeff Robinson and Ella (Hargrove) Robinson in Houston. On May 16, 1952 she married Jim “Ford” Scott.

Deeda was a homemaker and loved caring for and spending time with her family. She was married to the love of her life, Jim “Ford” Scott, for 64 years. They loved to travel all over the United States in their motorhome. But their favorite travel spot was Colorado, where they would sit in lawn chairs and drink coffee and enjoy the scenery and cooler temperatures.

They loved God and spent their lives attending church meetings and services and raising up their family to know and love God.

Deeda enjoyed spending time with their children and grandkids. Yearly summer campouts were spent down by the pond and at the beach. Deeda will always be remembered by her grandkids for her famous potato salad, French toast, oatmeal, malt-o-meal and homemade cookies, all made in the motorhome. The entire family would pile up in the motorhome for meals and camping until the family grew to large to fit.

She was a long-time member of Rock Island Full Gospel Church.

Deeda is survived by her daughter Susan Taylor and husband Andrew; son Michael Ford Scott and wife Patricia; son-in-law Noel Barten; grandchildren Stephen Ford Scott, Christine Scott, Tressa Alley, Brett Barten, Heath Barten, Stephany Barten, Alan Taylor; 22 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jeff and Ella Robinson; husband Jim “Ford” Scott; daughter Tina Scott Barten; sister Elouise Blasburg; brothers Kenneth Robinson and Paul Robinson.

Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus.

Funeral Service was Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Calvin Harris officiated.

Burial took place in Myrtle Cemetery in Rock Island.

Pallbearers were Stephen Ford Scott, Brett Barten, Heath Barten, Alan Taylor, John Alley, Jr. and Donovan Alley.
