Sherman Kearbey

Sherman Kearbey, 73, of Columbus, passed away on Feb. 14 in Yoakum.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1946 to Homer Edward Kearbey and Audrey (Hines) Kearbey in Coon Island near Poplar Bluff, Missouri. On Jan. 29, 1972, Sherman married Shirley Koppelmann.

Sherman worked as a Product Relocation Engineer for HEC Trucking in Fischer. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the V.F.W. and the Owner/Operators Trucking Association.

Sherman enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, western movies and Fox news radio.

Sherman is survived by his spouse, Shirley Kearbey of Columbus; his daughters, Sharon Kearbey-Churchwell (Daniel) of Dallas, Crystal Ethridge of Columbus, Cristina Kearbey of Columbus , Jeanine Woods (Glenn) of Kentucky, and Sheryl Zoglmann (Chris) of Kentucky; his sister, Shirlene Noel (Harry) of Fenton, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Emma Kearbey, Tyler Church-well, Clark Alan Jenkins, Amelia Churchwell, Michael Zoglmann, Kirsten Zoglmann, Bryson Morrow (Caitlyn), Kenneth Rowan, and Kennedy Rowan; and a great-granddaughter, Nyla Cate Morrow, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Audrey Kearbey, two sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home with Bill Lattimore officiating.
