She was born on Sept. 20, 1942 to Dr. James Emerson Dailey and Catherine (Igoe) Dailey in Corpus Christi. She grew up in Houston and attended St. Anne’s Catholic School and Marian High School.

She enrolled at the University of St. Thomas, after which she became an X-ray technician at St. Joseph’s Hospital. On Aug. 3, 1963 she married Samuel Parnell Thomson.

Sandy, as she was known to all who loved her, was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, friend and housewife and loved caring for her family, friends and the Eagle Lake community.

She enjoyed being a faithful parishioner of the Parish of the Nativity Catholic Church, being a Catholic Daughter, her “Bunco Babes” and card games groups, the Garden Club, and volunteering at the Eagle Lake Food Pantry. She enjoyed cooking, and if there was a community event or a sick friend, Sandy could always be counted on to donate a casserole or a dessert along with her time.

Sandy is survived by her son, Brian Thomson and wife, Linda of Round Rock; son Lane Thomson and wife, Celie of Columbus; and daughter, Kelly Thomson and husband, Max Salas of Belle Mead, New Jersey; sisters, Catherine Dailey and Caroline Dailey Hunt of Willis; sister-in-law Melanie Dailey; grandchildren Parker Thomson, Samantha Thomson, Catherine Thomson, Abigail Thomson, Audrey Thomson, Cassandra Salas and Emma Salas, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Thomson; parents, Dr. James Dailey and Catherine Dailey; sister, Margaret Stallings; brother, James Dailey and brother-inlaw Paul Stallings.

Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, followed by a rosary at 6 p.m.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. at Parish of the Nativity Catholic Church in Eagle Lake. Fr. Robert Guerra will officiate. Visitation at the church will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

A private graveside burial will take place at the Nativity Cemetery in Eagle Lake following the funeral.
