UPSON

Jesse Upson was born in 1950 in Colorado County. He attended school at E.H. Henry in Eagle Lake.

Jesse confessed his belief in Christ and was baptized at White Cloud Baptist Church. He later became a member of Greater Rising Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Truman Scott, Sr.

Jesse was united in holy matrimony to Diane Scott and to this union two sons were born: Jessie and Warren.

He worked as a rice farmer, security guard, and at the gravel pit. Jesse enjoyed barbecuing and spending time with family and friends.

Jesse departed this life Feb. 10. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife, Diane; sons

Jessie and Jesse, Jr. (Keandra); daughter, Monique; brothers: Cordis, Jr. (Carleen), Oliver (Renee), Edward (Eva), and Raymond (Gail); sister, Odessa (David); aunt, Castella; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Final arrangements were entrusted to Ben Davis Funeral Home of Columbus.
