Cardinal golfers win home tournament

    The Columbus High School Boys Varsity Golf Team recently won their home tournament in Columbus with a score of 341.

The Columbus Boys Golf Team hosted and played in their annual golf tournament on Monday, Feb.18, 2019.

The golfers fought through cold, windy and wet conditions for most of the morning.

The Cardinals are coming off winning their first three tournaments of the season with Austin Pflughaupt being first medalist in the last two tournaments.

It wasn’t going to be an easy day, but the Cardinals fought through the tough conditions to do it again.

Columbus won their tournament with a team score of 341 and Carson Wray was first place medalist with a score of

80. The winning teams’ golfers scores were Carson Wray, 80; Austin Pflughaupt, 87; Brock Schobel, 87; Ty Thomas, 87; and Hayden Heffley,

93.

Columbus Individual Medalist were Drew Schobel, 103, and Tyler Pawlik,

113.

That is now 4 team tournament wins in a row for the Cardinals and 3 medalist wins in a row for a Columbus Golfer. The Columbus Boys Golf Team will play next in La Grange on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Frisch Auf Golf Course.
