On Saturday, Dec. 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Santa Claus will swing through Columbus. He won’t be on his sleigh, but instead on a red fire truck stopping by the Saturdays On the Square market to visit all the little (and big) kiddos who want to see him. There will be a large rocking chair for Santa and two small rocking chairs for kids to talk with the big guy. Everyone can dress up for this occasion. October is vision awareness month and the recent White Cane Day to raise money for children’s eye sight testing and providing those in need with eye exams and eyewear was very successful; due in a large part to Walmart’s Community Grant program which donated $1,500 to the White Cane event. Thanks also goes out to AL&M and Brookshire Bros for allowing the Lions to set up donation tables at their stores.

They filmed footage from the Hatari Wildlife Park, the Santa Claus Museum, the Alley Log Cabin and the Colorado County Courthouse, before ending off their day with fresh soft-serve at Dairy Cone. YOLO TX is a traveling show about entertainment, food and things to do across the state. It can be seen in every media market throughout Texas. In Houston it’s broadcast on Sunday mornings at 8:30 am on KIAH-TV (the CW Channel) which is satellite channel 39 and Spectrum cable channel 3. The Columbus segment will air on Sunday morning, Nov. 8 at 8:30 a.m. The episode features five towns along the I-10 corridor including Schulenburg, Seguin, Cuero, Gonzales and Columbus.
