Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club President, Judge Stan Warfield welcomed guest speaker, Lou Kelley to discuss the importance of supporting the Eula and David Wintermann Library. For the past 43 years the Eagle Lake Study Club, now known as “The Friends of the Library” has been sponsoring an annual Auction and Dinner at the Eagle Lake Community Center. All proceeds from the evening benefit the library. For the past couple of years, the Covid pandemic prevented large gatherings. However, it was with great pleasure that Auction Chairman Lou Kelley announced, “The Friends of the Library 43rd Annual Auction and Dinner is alive and well, and we will be ready to open the doors of the Community Center at 5:00pm on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Lou also related that committee members have been busy planning and procuring fantastic items for both the Silent Auction and the Live Auction. Highlights discussed: Starting off with a sumptuous social hour with free wine and beer; Mouth-watering Home-made Goodies at the Bakery Booth; Delicious Chicken Fried Chicken and 3 sides provided by Monster Bites; Nearly 100 items to bid on during the Silent Auction; Last Man Standing Game with some fantastic prizes; Raffle Drawing for generous gift certificates and a variety of firearms; Auctioneer Todd Krenek presenting the Live Auction with a wide variety of high-ticket items. Lou Kelley reminded the Lions that it takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a community to support our wonderful library. As part of the community, you can purchase Raffle tickets ($20) and Dinner tickets ($12) from any Friends of the Library or Library Board of Directors members, or at the Eula and David Wintermann Library.
