I was surprised to see the front page of last week’s Citizen, contained 4 parts of the Socialist platform as enumerated in the ballot propositions of the Democrat Party. This may be a first in the 25 years I’ve subscribed. Usually, as I recall, the sample ballots are re-printed somewhere else in the paper, like on page 7 where the Republican propositions were printed this time. Oh well, times change and maybe the Citizen will lead the way in turning our county blue...politically. In a way, I’m sorta glad it happened. It might cause some of us to reflect on what our nation stands to lose.

Keep up with who was getting married or having a baby. The passing of old friends. Home remedies for this or that. It was a builtin co-op whereby if someone needed a particular item we were always there to help supply with each other’s needs… egg cartons, plastics bags, and plastic plant containers. The friendships became solid and a trust was developed. We were all opinioned, but that never stopped us from supporting and caring for each other. The stories are priceless!
