On Saturday, July 17, I-10 came to a screeching halt just west of Columbus. An 18-wheeler turned over and dumped its load of large rocks onto the West bound lane. The truck wrapped around a light pole in the median. The driver, name unknown at this time, was transported by helicopter to a Houston hospital. Traffic from both directions remained backed up for hours while the rocks were moved, and Delgado’s heavy wrecker hauled the truck away.
