Charles Brunson (1830-1916), born in Westphalia, Germany, migrated to America in 1845. About 1867 he settled in Columbus, establishing a saloon, which prospered. In 1891 he erected this building, adding adjacent store in 1896. At the turn of the century in the early 1900s, it is reported that the building was used as a depository of weapons for a short period of time.

Bobby Joe and Becky enjoy sitting on their front porch where there are pots full of white and pink blooming Vincas. The front steps are anchored with Fox Tail Ferns and other plants. Among the yellow chrysanthemums is a pumpkin ready for the fall season and Halloween.
