Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge in Eagle Lake reminds residents that native prairie land is filled with colorful wildflowers year-round and the Gayfeather (also known as Texas blazing star or Liatris) is coming on strong this year. Summer wildflowers are tall this year, and Coneflower plants along the auto tour route at the refuge are almost six feet tall in places! The Rattlesnake master seems to really be responding well to the recent rainfall. If you have cabin fever, take a drive out to the refuge and admire the flowers. Courtesy
