Joe Hester Potter, 71, of Columbus passed away at his home on May 28, 2020. Joe was born October 11, 1948, the second son of Clarence Henry Potter, Sr. and Marjorie Eloise Hester Potter. Joe was active in the Boy Scouts in his youth. He attended the public schools and graduated Columbus High School (CHS) in 1968. While at CHS he was a four year member of both the high school band and the Future Farmers of America.

Daniel George Mazoch, age 69 of Bernardo, passed away May 29 at his home. Daniel was born Dec. 8, 1950 and is the son of Henry and Gussie Neimeyer Mazoch, also of Bernardo. Daniel was known for his extensive musical talents. He started playing guitar and singing publically with his father’s band, “The Sunset Playboys,” when he was only 14 years old. One by one, each one of his siblings were added to the band, so the name of the band was changed to “The Sunset Playboys and Girls”.

Larry Willings Messersmith, 89, passed into the arms of his loving Lord Feb. 28 in New Orleans, LA. Larry was born Aug. 31, 1930 in Farnham, NE, and was predeceased by his parents, Jennie and Emry Messersmith, and his only sibling, Owen Messersmith.
