Read moreFormer volleyball athletes (right) take on the new 2021 Columbus Lady Cards Volleyball team on Friday, August 6, at the Marley Giddings gym in Columbus. Fun was the name of the game with some serious spiking mixed in. The alumni held their own and didn’t appear to break a sweat. The young team hustled, and the veterans countered in a more studied way. In the end, it appears Columbus will have a new team to be proud of.
Read moreOn August 6 and 7, Industry State Bank held a “Back to School Supplies Parade” at all three of their branch locations in Industry, New Ulm, and Columbus. People could drive up to any of the three locations, and employees were outside handing out packets filled with school supplies to the students in each car. 300 packets were handed out to all school aged children, ranging from those entering PreK to those going off to college. Industry State Bank would like to thank everyone who came out to make the parade a success!
Read moreAs the teachers made their way back to school in the first weeks of August, Industry State Bank prepared and presented gifts (metal tumblers filled with snacks) for all of the teachers and staff at Columbus Elementary, Columbus Junior High, Columbus High School, and St. Anthony’s Catholic School. These gifts were given to show appreciation for all the hard work they put in year-round with their students. ISB wishes all the students, teachers, and school employees a wonderful and safe year.

Their first game of the 2021 season against the El Campo LadyBirds in Columbus on Tuesday, August 10 ended with Columbus taking three sets out of four. Ally Tribe was smoking with 14 kills and 46 attacks. Ember Mandola had 17 attacks and seven kills and Shatyra Scott ended the game with 21 attacks and three kills. The rest of the team contributed with a number of attacks and kills that put an end to the El Campo LadyBirds.
