Read moreIt didn’t take long for the boys to get in the groove as they began their afternoon practices for Columbus Youth Football Federation (CYFF). It was hot but they took it on with enthusiasm and a lot of water. The girls CYFF cheer squad started their practices right along with the football team. Read moreBand Director Amanda Robison lines the band members up and puts them through their paces. Practice started on July 19, with Percussion camp. On July 26 and through August 13, everyone will be sharpening their music and field marching skills. The field marching routines are oft-times complex and must be down pat for competition. When school starts, the band will be practicing Monday and Tuesday nights until the UIL con- test, which will be on October 16.

Read moreOn Saturday, the Weimar Vets hosted Sealy. The game was scoreless through the first four innings with strong pitching by both teams. Both teams plated two runs to tie the game in the fifth. Sealy broke the game open by scoring the seventh and eighth innings, the final score, Sealy 12, Vets 2. Only 5 earned runs for Sealy.
