The impact on our society has been immense and, yet, there is this feeling of “what can I do to have a positive impact on my community.” We can not forget about our youth, they have not as many life experiences and are in need of emotional and physical support. So, what can you do for your community? Look to the youth and the schools. Schools are the essence of our community. However, our schools have been hit hard by the pandemic, forcing many teachers into quarantine, a shortage of substitute teachers, and our youth’s constant schedules thrown into disarray.
Read moreThe Wild Clover 4-H showed their appreciation to all the Veterans for Veterans Day Nov. 11. The 4-H members set up stations that the veterans could drive-through. The first station was a welcome station where members thanked the veterans for their service and asked Veterans where they served and for how long. As veterans moved to the second station, they picked up a bag that had chicken noodle soup and a nice note of thanks from 4-H members. 4-H members served 30 veterans; it was a fantastic evening of service! Like other THL 3.0 offerings, these instructional materials are optional and aligned to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)—the state standards for what grade-level knowledge and skills students should possess.
