St. Mary’s parishioners are excited to celebrate their Annual Bazaar. Everyone is welcome to a festive day of live entertainment, homemade food, silent and live auctions, a raffle and more as the parishioners of St. Mary’s celebrate their 69th Annual Bazaar on Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Community Center, located one block off Highway 71 in Ellinger.
The day begins by celebrating Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church at 8 a.m. The Church is located 2 miles east of Ellinger, just off FM 2503.
At 11 a.m., a fried chicken and sausage meal will be prepared and served at the Community Center. The plates also include buttered potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, peaches, pickles, bread and tea for $11 a plate ($5 for children under 12 years).
Adult plates will be available to go and for pick up via the Drive-Thru line at 11 a.m. Chicken by the piece and link sausage is also offered to go. Sausage wraps will be available at 2 p.m. As always, there will be plenty of ice-cold refreshments on hand. Cakes, strudels, pies and pastries of all flavors are readily available.
The Holub Polka Band will entertain you during your meal, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The country auction begins at 1:00 p.m. Among this year’s wide variety of items to be auctioned we will have an exquisite Amish King size quilt designed by the artist C. Jean Horst, hand quilted and appliquéd by a member of the Lancaster Amish Quilters. We will also have a beautiful ‘Around the World’ quilt donated and hand quilted by St. Mary’s Altar Society. You won’t regret taking the time to enjoy our auction.
Throughout the day, there will also be a Cake and Plant Wheel, Country Store, Arts and Crafts Booth and Silent Auction.
The grand prize of this year’s raffle is a $5,000 VISA gift card! With more than 26 valuable prizes, totaling over $13,000 in gift cards and gift baskets, you’ll want to buy a ticket ASAP. Raffle tickets will be available throughout the day of the bazaar, as well as through St. Mary parishioners.
