WEIMAR GETS READY FOR DOWN HOME CHRISTMAS
The Weimar Area Chamber of Commerce cordially invites you to participate in its annual two-week long Down Home Christmas Shopping Event.
The main dates are Nov. 28 and Dec. 10. Registering and Shopping – Starts on Nov. 28 at participating businesses and will continue until Dec. 10.
LIGHTED SANTA PARADE AND FAMILY NIGHT
The lighted parade will take place on Dec. 10. There will also be activities for the kiddos downtown as well.
DRAWINGS – DEC. 10
All registration tickets should be brought to City Hall by 5 p.m. on Dec. 10. The drawings for Weimar Bucks and other prizes will take place at Hill Bank Pavilion after the lighted parade.
PARADE AND DRAWING EVENING INFORMATION
On Thursday, Dec. 10 the Down Home Christmas Family event will begin with the annual lighted parade. There are no entry forms for this, just get in line and be ready to go by 5:30 p.m. The parade will start lining up in front of the Weimar Junior High school, 101 N West St, Weimar, TX 78962, facing South. The parade will wind down the streets downtown and end near City Hall. (For Parade questions, please contact Lindsay Fisbeck 361-772-5073). After the parade, there will be children’s activities set up under the Hill Bank Pavilion. If you would like to set up a children’s activity, please contact Peggy Guenther at 979-725-9575.
CHRISTMAS DECORATING CONTEST DEC. 1
The third annual Christmas Decorating Contest, hosted by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Whispering Oaks RV Park, will light up Columbus for the holidays. The contest is open to businesses and residences within the Columbus city limits. One winner in each category will receive a special Ladies Night Out trophy, gift cards to local businesses and will be recognized in local newspapers and C of C communications. To participate, simply call the Chamber office at (979) 732-8385 or email assist@ columbustexas.org Deadline to get your business or residence on the list for judging is Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. Judging will take place Tuesday, Dec. 1. Be sure to have your Christmas lights on no later than 6 p.m. Winners will be announced Wednesday, Dec. 2.
CHRISTMAS PARADE IN COLUMBUS DEC. 2
The City of Columbus will have a Holiday of Lights Christmas parade Wednesday, Dec. 2 starting at 6 p.m. The parade will be a great kick off for the annual Ladies Night Out shopping event Thursday, Dec. 3. Parade entry forms are at the Citizen office and Columbus Chamber of Commerce office.
LADIES NIGHT OUT DEC. 3
The annual Columbus Chamber of Commerce Ladies Night Out shopping event will be Thursday, Dec. 3 from 4 - 9 p.m. in Columbus. There will be no vendors inside the Opera House this year, as all vendors will be on the Courthouse lawn and Spring Street this year. St. Paul Lutheran Church will donate the use of two of their shuttles and furnish drivers for the shuttles, and Colorado County Oil Company will sponsor the Chamber Trolley for the evening. These three modes of transportation will pick up and drop off shoppers at all of the merchants and businesses outside of downtown Columbus participating in LNO. Lil’ Einstein Learning Center will offer child care during LNO as well (limit 38 children ages 18 months - school age). You must register and pay in advance for the child care services. WINE WALK NOV. 21
Splashway will host a Wine Walk Saturday, Nov. 21. Catch local wineries, artisan vendors, and musicians all in the same place! Tickets are just $45 and include:

Let’s face it, the “virtual market” doesn’t have the same holly, jolly effect as shopping in person! Stop by Splashway’s Christmas market, nestled in cozy tents, and shop with vendors from all over Texas! Grab some last minute gifts, find the perfect stocking stuffers, or just treat yourself to a present of your own! The Christmas market will be Saturday, Dec. 5, from noon - 5:30 p.m. Admission is $10 but, it’s for a good cause! All proceeds will go to local charities. Or you can bring a new toy to donate and admission is FREE! In addition to the market, there will be tons of family fun to enjoy!

The annual Christmas Mall and Parade of Lights sponsored by the Eagle Lake Chamber of Commerce will take place Saturday, Dec. 12 starting with the Christmas Mall from noon - 9 p.m. The parade will start at 6:45 p.m. There will be free photos with Santa following the parade.
