County VFDs in action over the holiday week

The Volunteer Fire Departments of Eagle Lake and Garwood teamed up to take on a structure fire on Stevenson Street.

The Columbus VFD responded to a car fire near Emmel Lane that fully engulfed the vehicle. All passengers escaped the burning car safely as the department converged on the incident and successfully battled the fire.

The Frelsburg Fire Station will be receiving a new edition after Neundorff’s Waterwell Service started production on a new well near the station. The water will be used at the station as well as in tanks for their fire trucks. With a limited amount of hydrants in Frelsburg VFDs service area, they often have only the stored water in their tanks for response.
