The monthly Frelsburg 4-H was Oct. 21. Jack Dudensing led the Pledge, and Rowdy Kunz led the 4-H motto and pledge. Members heard a great Health Tip from Garrett Burnett. Following that, all members introduced themselves and told about their favorite fall activity. That was a fun activity and helped members get to know each other better.
Frelsburh 4H president shared about business appreciation day for 4H Week, where members took baked goods to 4-H supporters in the community to say thank you for always supporting local 4H clubs.
The One Day 4-H Food Drive was also during 4H Week. Frelsburg 4H collected $553.47 and 55 canned goods, and seven members participated.
Members took club by laws home to review and go over at the next meeting.
The club was informed about an upcoming robotics informative meeting at the extension office. This project helps children learn basic science concepts and application of the scientific inquiry method and engineering design.
Members also discussed the upcoming Christmas community service project. Jack volunteered to contact Oak Bluff Assisted Living Center and create a flyer for their residents. Frelsburg 4H will host a party for them Dec. 4 at 4:30 p.m.
The county-wide fundraiser was talked about, and information and order forms were available from Mrs. Rau and Mrs. Grahmann. Fruit will be delivered to the Colorado County Fairgrounds for delivery on Thursday, Dec. 5. Club members must make arrangements to pick up and deliver their orders that day.
Club T-shirts were discussed and and members decided to get them and the club will cover the cost.
Members also discussed and voted to donate $200 to buy a refrigerator to help the local food pantry. The meeting program was provided by Columbus State Bank on financial education. Refreshments provided by the Rau family.
The meeting was adjourned and the next meeting will be Nov.18 at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments and program will be provided by the Stavinoha family.
