Kermit K. Brune, age 89, of Columbus, passed away May 28 in Columbus.
He was born on July 16, 1930 to Arthur J. Brune, Sr. and Elenore (Kuhn) Brune in Columbus. On Aug. 10, 1951 he married Evelyn Bahner.
Kermit worked as a Lineman and Service Technician for Southwestern Bell for many years. He spent time in the Marines from 1952 to 1954, and received the National Defense Service Medal.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Kermit enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Kermit is survived by his daughter Peggy Rodgers; son Mark Brune and wife Sheri; grandchildren Bryan Brune, Kehrer Brune, Kristy Bissey; great-grandchildren Bryson Brune, Lexi Hanna, Jaylynne Brune, Payton Bissey, Gage Folmer, Novalee Bissey, and Everlee Brune.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur J. and Elenore Brune; wife Evelyn Bahner Brune; son-in-law Daniel Rodgers; brothers Arthur J. Brune, Jr., Henry Brune, Sr., Gilbert Brune, infant brother; sisters Beatrice Stock, Elvira Schneider, and Gladys Schneider.
A private family funeral service was Tuesday, June 2 at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. John Glueck and Deacon Charlie Novosad officiated.
Burial took place in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Columbus.
Pallbearers were Charles Ray Brune, Henry Brune, Jr., M.H. Schneider, Irving Schneider, Michael Kern and Mike Braden.
