Joyce Lilie Dehmer, 88, passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2023 in Columbus Texas. She was born on Nov. 18, 1935 to Henry Lilie and Lillian (Holub) Lilie in Columbus, Texas. Joyce grew up in Alleyton and attended school in Columbus graduating in 1953.

She married Philip V. Dehmer on Aug. 28, 1954. They subsequently moved to Houston where they made their home and raised 2 children. After retiring, they moved back to their hometown of Columbus. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus.

Joyce loved baking, especially at Christmas, when she would gift her family with her delicious cookies, fudge, candy and fruit cakes. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her plants and flowers. Joyce truly cherished her friends and family and delighted in their visits and company. She was a big Texans fan and looked forward to watching the games on Sundays.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Donna Dehmer of Columbus; son, Philip V. Dehmer, Jr. and wife Nanette of Katy; grandchi ldren Christopher Dehmer and wife Michel of Katy, Cori Dehmer of Houston, Daniel Dehmer and wife Kelly of Katy, and Laura Maxey of Spring; great-grandchildren Michael Stephens, Cash Dehmer, Vivian Dehmer, Kennedi Keener, and Kiera Dehmer; great, great-grandchildren Aubriana and Olivia.

She was preceded in death by husband Philip V. Dehmer; parents Henry and Lillian Lilie; brother Donnie Lilie; sisters Dorothy Peters and Deanna Lee; brothers-in-law Adolph “Slim” Peters and Stacy Lee.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus, Texas with Pastor Alan Kethan officiating. Burial will take place in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus, Texas.

Memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
