KAY STORY

Kay Nell Story, age 71, passed away on July 28, 2022, in Columbus, Texas. She was born in Rotan, Texas, December 7, 1950. She grew up in Anson, Texas, and attended school there. After graduating Anson High School in 1969 she attended Abilene Business School.

Kay married Mike Story in December 1971, in Abilene, where they started a family business. Kay kept books for the several business ventures they went into through their 51 years of marriage, taking them throughout most of the south and eastern U.S. They eventually settled in Columbus, Texas, where she worked and retired from The Colorado County District Clerk Office.

She spent most of her spare time working on Genealogy research. She was a member of the American Genealogy Society, Eastern Star, and several local Columbus organizations.

Kay was preceded in death by her mother Wynell Dugan and father Jimmie Dugan of Anson.

She is survived by husband Mike of Columbus and son Shannon of Trapper Creek, Alaska.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at Adams-Graham Funeral Home, 732 Avenue I, Anson, Texas, 79501. Burial was at 11 a.m. in Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Texas.
