RITA FRANCES HENNEKE ADDICKS

Rita Frances Henneke Addicks, of Weimar, Texas, passed away on Feb. 10, 2023, in Victoria, Texas. She was born on March 5, 1949 in Nada, Texas to William J. and Anne (Schoellmann) Henneke.

Rita lived all of her life in Nada where she attended St. Mary’s Cathol ic School, graduated from Garwood High School and attended Wharton Junior College. She then went to Houston for a number of years where she worked for an insurance company. She then went on to work at the First National Bank in Eagle Lake until 1988.

Rita and Franklin Addicks were married on April 25, 1984 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nada; they were married for 35 years. Rita enjoyed her flowers, especially her roses, her garden, her animals and her yard. She enjoyed canning, cooking, sewing, quilting and baking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anne Henneke, brother, Steve Henneke and son, Jamie Ryanne Addicks.

She is survived by her husband, Franklin Addicks of Weimar; sister Mary Ann Henneke of Weimar; brothers, Robert J. Henneke and wife Lanette of San Angelo and Jim Henneke and wife Sherri of Eunice, New Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and special helper and friend David Beyer.

Funeral services were on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Nada at 10 a.m. with Fr. Peter Yeboah-Amanfo and Fr. Wayne Flagg officiating. A rosary was lead at 9:30 a.m. just before services began. Burial followed in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation was held on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023 at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus from 5-7 p.m.

Serving as pal lbearers were Aaron Henneke, Zachary Sadler, Robby Sadler, Steven Stock, Larry Hartensteiner, Joe Schimcek, Larry “Bear” Kana, David Beyer and Allan Koehn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church of Nada or St. Mary Catholic Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 97, Nada, Texas 77460, or St. Michael Catholic School, P.O. Box 36, Weimar, Texas 78962.
