Irving E. Schneider, 70, of Cypress, passed away May 23 at his home in Cypress surrounded by his family.

Irving was born June 18, 1951 to Manuel H. and Elvira (Brune) Schneider in Columbus.

Irving was raised in Columbus where he attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School and Columbus High School, graduating in 1969. He graduated from The University of Houston in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Irving was employed by Cameron in Houston for 40 years in sales and marketing.

Nine months after starting work at Cameron, Irving was asked if he would like to work overseas. Being right out of college, Irving was willing to accept any new opportunities. On Feb. 22, 1975 Irving arrived in London, England where he began his overseas assignment. His assignment included living in London for six months and 18 months traveling back and forth to Alkobar, Saudi Arabia, Muscat, Oman, and Tehran, Iran.

His job was to help setup agent offices in the Middle East. His wife Ann and son Mike arrived in England on Mar. 26, 1975. While in England, Irving and Ann welcomed their daughter Amy, and the family lived in Leeds, England until July 1978.

After 40 successful years with Cameron in numerous positions and traveling worldwide, Irving celebrated his retirement in 2013.

Irving and Ann are members of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Community in Katy. Irving spent his retirement years enjoying the sport he loved; golf, traveling in an RV with his wife, and hunting for over 45 years with his brothers, son, grandson, nephews, cousins, and friends in Junction.

He loved to come home from hunting trips and tell his wife camp fire stories especially in 2021 when he took his grandson, Ryan, on his first hunting trip. He was also very proud to talk about his granddaughter, Olivia, and her loving and spirted adventures.

Irving was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Elvira Schneider and his brother Paul Schneider. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Ann Schneider; son Michael and wife Lora, and grandson Ryan Schneider of Oviedo, FL; his daughter Amy Jones and husband Matt, and granddaughter Olivia Jones of Trophy Club; brothers M.H. Schneider (Marietta) and Greg Schneider (Bana) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Irving was a very passionate and kind man who loved life and who treasured the close relationships he had with his family and friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, May 31 at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Community, 1530 Norwalk Dr., Katy, TX 77450. Visitation was from 10 – 11 a.m. Funeral Mass followed at 11 a.m. with Fr. Martins C. Emeh, J.C.L. officiating. Graveside service and interment was at 3 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Columbus, with Deacon John Glueck officiating.

Pallbearers were Rick Morton, Bill Horner, Victor Chiang, Ryan Schneider, Matt Jones, John Schneider, and Ethan Schneider. Honorary Pallbearers were Gregory Schneider, Sean Butler, Lee Bright, Todd Blankenship, Shyam Sunder Bhatia, Bart Gliatti, Jim Nester, Tom Warren, and Ed King.
