SHOWERS

The Lord called Allan James Showers, Jr. home Nov. 21 at the age of 78.

Allan was born Sept. 8, 1943 in Houston to Allan and Millidean Showers.

Allan was raised in Houston. He retired from the United States Navy after 22 years of service as a Master Chief.

Following his military service, Allan retired from the Virginia Pilot newspaper.

He and Robbie moved to Sheridan in 2010 and were members of the First Baptist Church in Sheridan.

Allan was a handyman, and enjoyed home projects, motorcycles, cars and visiting with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy Ann Showers and first wife, Susan Showers.

He is survived by his loving wife, Robbie Ann Showers; daughters Sharon and Nancy Showers; brother Stephen Showers and wife Lynn; brother Chris Showers and wife Pam; stepsons Chris and Kenny Lee Fisher (wife Pam); nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four nephews and one niece.

A memorial service was Nov. 28 at First Baptist Church in Sheridan.
